Live: Adamsson 2009

Now it's time for the annual award ceremony for Adamson, the prizes handed out by the Swedish Comics Academy since 1965(!).

The Swedish award was given to Ola Skogäng (Mumiens blod), who was present to accept the award himself.

The international award was given to Jean Van Hamme and Philippe Francq for the comic Largo Winch, in Sweden published in the magazine Agent X9.

The award was accepted by the editor Germund von Wowern, from the publisher Egmont Kärnan.

The special awards were given to Åsa Ekström (Sayonara September) and the journalist Rolf Lindby (Serieguide).

Well, that's it for now. I'll get back with more reports as the day wears on.

I spotted an error, the artist on Largo Winch is named Jean van Hamme.

It's also a bit unclear, but did George van Wovern accept that award, or did he win anything, himself?

And right now I realised I made an error myself, Francq is the artist, Van Hamme is the writer.

    Sorry for that.

  3. I suppose you mean Jean Van Hamme? A worthy winner, although I don't think Largo Winch is his best work (nor Francq the best artist he has collaborated with). Congrats to all!

  4. Ah, yes sorry. All written in the spur of the moment, while the awards were given away. Of course it's Jean Van Hamme. And no, I agree that Largo Winch is not his best work, even though overall this is not a scriptwriter or a genre for that mater that I'm very much interested in...

  5. Come to think about it, I'm more surprised that I managed to spell the name Francq right...

  6. Håkan/Wakuran: "George van Wovern" didn't win anything except a few a few minutes in the spotlight.
