News: The Portent on iPhone!

I am getting more and more excited about the possibility of reading comics on smart-phones. For a long time, this has been an area where I felt that the technology just came in the way of the reading experience. In short, paper was simply so much more convenient. Getting an iPhone and testing some of the new readers and the comics which are out there has convinced me that this is quickly going to be a viable way both to distribute and read comics. And it is getting more and more interesting, by the day.

Right now, Swedish artist Peter Bergting has dived into this new part of the business, putting out his hit series The Portent for smart-phones, and I for one will eagerly await the results of this. Read more about his experience here. I'll get back with a review of the comic on my iPhone later.

  2. I completely agree with you about the use of the iPhone as a comics reader, Fredrik. Before the iPhone, I was very skeptical about comics on handhelds, but the advent of the many comic-related apps has changed my mind. With the direct market dying a slow painful death in the states, I can see comics on the iPhone and other smartphones really becoming a vibrant way of distribution.
