Portrait: Janry II

I've met the Belgian Janry (Jean-Richard Geurts - most famous for drawing Spriou and Fantasio) a few times at various comics festivals around the world. Actually he was the very first artist to ever draw a portrait of me, a charming little piece, showing me in my bashful youth, pony-tail and all. That was years ago, and the above portrait was done more recently, and shows someone a bit older and a lot more tired... Anyway I love the way these Marcinelle artists capture the very essence of what they are drawing. I don't look like that, and yet... I do. Beautiful!
