Sekventiellt (Sequentially) is a blog about the art of comics - from my perspective. I write reviews and news updates, do reportage from festivals and so on. As I live in Sweden, much of what I write about is based here and in our Nordic neighbours. I update regularly, so feel free to use RSS feedto keep track of what's happening.
OK, so I guess it's no secret anymore. Earlier this autumn I wrote a short comic for an anthology about corruption, which will be released in a few weeks. It was illustrated by the eminent Jan Bielecki, a Swede living in London. A short description of the poject, those involved etc. kan be found here. I will attend the festival Comica, lead a panel discussion about propaganda, take part in an exhibition with the art from the anthology as well as an exhibition about propaganda, where parts of my book Comic Art Propaganda will be displayed.
OK, this is a few months old, but I just stumbled upon it and thought I had to share it with you all. I am right at this moment curating a big exhibition on world comics and for that reason I have been in contact with the people doing the comic book The 99. If you are not aware of it, The 99 is the first ever superhero comic book, based on muslim culture. It is published and distributed all over the world, and the man who got it all started is Dr. Naif Al-Mutawa. I was browsing his homepage and found this beautiful little piece about the naming of his newborn son. Oh, and keep reading, it just gets better.
I hang out a lot with comics artist and sometimes I give inspiration to a character in a story, or a portrait may end up in my trusted sketchbook. I will continually collect these portraits here. Click on the names below to see the images.
