Media have started to pick upp the scent of the upcoming SPX festival in Stockholm this weekend. A few days ago, there was a major article, stretching several pages, about the new trend of translating comics into Swedish. Comics in comic books have been translated cointinuously, but the translation and publishing of albums and graphic novels have all but died since the early 1990s. Now, we are seeing a new, if still modest, wave of translations - which is very welcome as new generations of Swedish readers and creators needs to see what has happened in the rest of the world
The article fousing on this theme was run in Svenska Dagbladet, and can be found here, accompanied with an extra article, showcasing some of the upcoming translations.
