The comic book Kapten Stofil (Captain Geezer) has been an institution in Swedish comics the last decade, published and run independently by a group working relentlessly without ever making more than break-even on the printing costs.
Now, this work has reached its end, as the editorial group has announced that they will produce the issues due this year and then end the life of the comic book. The press release can be found here.
This is of course sad news, but probably inevitable. Producing a quarterly comic book is hard work, and doing it without making any profit, always relying on using everyone's "free" time only works until the steam runs out which it quite evidently has done now.
So, I salute the crew behind Kapten Stofil and look forward to seeing what they will do next.
