Portrait: Ivan Brun

Ivan Brun visited Sweden and Malmö for the AltCom festival that the Swedish Comics Association arranged last autumn. I had, sadly, only read a few shorter comics by Brun and was immediately taken by the books he brought, No Comment and War songs.  I managed to obtain the very last copies, but had to relinquish one to another international guest, Ho Che Anderson... Oh well, I have since bought that and other books by Brun, who is a very special comics creator, often working with "silent",  wordless stories telling heavily political tales with a delicate touch and beautiful images. 

As for the image above, Brun had a table just opposite of the stage and saw me making interviews, giving lectures and so on, and I suppose that was what prompted him to give me the title "a man with a vision". I kinda like that. Maybe I should put it on my business card...
